About US

At Precious and Positive multiple writers have teamed up to share our experiences with our  readers.  The views expressed by each author are theirs alone.

Come meet our bloggers:

Kay and Lance have been married for 14 wonderful years and have three beautiful children by adoption.   Lance is a pastor of a Baptist church who enjoys great reformed preaching, writing, cycling, and playing with his kids.   Kay is a full-time stay at home mom/homeschooling mom who loves to bargain shop when she is not caring for her three little ones.   They have recently adopted their precious and HIV positive daughter who is two years old.

Hello!  I go by Adoptive Joy here at Precious and Positive.  I’m a mom, who’s married to IMHO (in my humble opinion) the greatest dad and husband someone could ask for.  We’ve been married 6 1/2 years but have know each other since grade school.  We reside in Virginia with 2 of the best kiddos in the world, soon we should have the best 4 children in the world.  We’re a family who loves one another and seeks to honor God by taking all the roads He highlights on our life journey.  The latest one seems to be heading straight towards 2 precious and positive kids.  Join me as we learn all that this means.  Its guaranteed to be a fabulous journey, perhaps you’d like to join along?

Jen and her husband Dustin have been married just over a decade. They reside in Arizona and have four kids at home. Their three oldest daughters came to them by birth. Their youngest son came home from Ethiopia December 2008. Currently, they are waiting to bring home their 4 year old son from Ethiopia who is precious and HIV positive. Jennifer also does some writing at her personal blog: www.beBOLDjen.com

Kristi and her husband have six children ranging in age from 27 to 3 years old.  Her children are very active in football, track, soccer, and basketball, so Kristi spends a lot of time in the bleachers!  They recently adopted their youngest two daughters from Ethiopia.  One of the girls contracted HIV from her biological mother through childbirth.  She is currently healthy and does not require HIV medication.

AP and ED love to dream BIG.  Their dreams don’t always become realities, but this one did!!!  They brought home their 3 1/2 year old daughter this year.  The new family of three loves to hike, explore, sing, eat Ethiopian food (mom’s learning to make the kitfo and lentils REALLY HOT!!) and tell stories.  The story of how God brought them together is their favorite!!!

Hi, my husband and I are beginning the adoption process and considering an HIV+ child. Our main concern is how much medical care will be required for the child to live a “normal” life. Not because we have a personal problem with that but because we are involved in foreign missions. I found your blog through the Rainbowkids website, and am just looking for some personal advice of someone who has experience in this area! Thank you so much for your help!!
